Where am I?

Update

So basically my plan for charging my phone using my solar panel has been foiled by a bout of terrible weather. So instead of relaxing on green pastures, bathing in the sunshine and reading my kindle whilst charging my phone, I have been standing at service station exits in the rain holding a piece of cardboard with my desired destination written on it.

So i apologize that now that I am here in a hostel (Be Dream Hostel - Barcelona), I cannot give some new photographs, but my phone did not have the battery to take them.

Imagine if you would, grey skies, rain clouds, snow and motorways. That has been my last few days.

To make up (somewhat) for not having photographs, I present to you a quick guide to the people who have given me lifts thus far:

  • Heavy metal loving truck driver from Belarus
  • Punk husband, wife and child.
  • Dubstep and Redbull fuelled Frenchman
  • A Grandfather truck driver who did nothing but hum along to happy hardcore techno music for the whole journey.
  • A man who seemed fine, but then his driving became odd. He couldnt seem to hold a steady speed, and so the car was constantly jerking forwards. Looking at him, he kept rubbing his face and opening his eyes wide, then his head would start drooping, not in a “me so sleepy” way, but in a “call a doctor, i am having a stroke” way. I asked him if he was ok, and at the sound of my voice he seemed to snap out of his fit and told me he was ok and needed coffee. We stopped at the next service area, he drank coffee and then he was fine the rest of the journey. I was only partially terrified for my life.
